Domestic workers Day celebrated on the 4th May 2013.

HOPE organised Domestic workers gathering on the 4th May 2013. Nearly 100 women joined the celebration. Advocate Anupama Joshi was the speaker for the day. She spoke on the recent act that is the sexual harassment of women at work place(Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. It was just enacted on the 23rd of April 2013. It has been a very good act for the safety and protection of women from sexual harassent. Adv.Joshi spoke to the women in a very simple way and explained to them all its important provisions. Women were very interested to listen to her. Mr.Nandu Govind Kamble, social worker from urban community development was invited to speak to the women on all the Government schemes and benefits. He shared in details all the various government schemes which the women and the students can benefit from the Pune Municipal Corporation. Domestic workers were happy to interact with both the resouse persons of the day. Social worker Miss Falcy Fernandis explained in detail how HOPE educates, enables,facelitates and intervenes to empower the domestic workers in Vadgaonsheri since 2011. Sr.Flory the Director and all the staff of HOPE were present for the celebration. It was an enriching day for all.
